Recently recognized as MovieMaker Magazine's "Film School of the Week," MFS is a highly collaborative, multi-disciplined film and video arts program. Administered and led by industry professionals, we’ll take film/video education on the road, bringing our comprehensive program to under-served communities, particularly in rural areas. Offering a wide variety of creative and technology-based programming, MFS will foster future filmmakers who, frame by frame, will contribute to the America’s rich cinematic and cultural tradition.

Why We Do It

As digital technology plays an increasingly influential role in our global society, we believe young people must be media literate if they are to achieve success in today's marketplace. Teaching both narrative and documentary film-making skills, we strive to narrow the digital divide in lower income communities and rural North America by increasing access to the art and technology of filmmaking. As we set out in search of undiscovered artists bursting with big ideas and storytelling talent, we'll provide tools to encourage the creative process and a strong work ethic. Not only will the Mobile Film School instruct students in all aspects of film and video production - thereby enhancing a wide variety of vocational skills – we will foster the next generation of filmmakers.
